Atelier Boutique de Céramique Décorative et utilitaires Stage Adult and Children
I harvest different clays and apply them to my pieces like a sensitive epidermis. Earth on earth.
Description
By interacting with other materials during firing, this sensitive epidermis reveals all its chromatic nuances. The pieces then become supports for little worlds inviting you to touch and contemplate. Wood or gas firing between 1100° and 1280°.
"Elisa Le Guern's attraction to ceramics is akin to her attraction to the people who make them and the land from which they emerge. It was in Latin America that the young ceramist found her inspiration and nurtured her technical approach by confronting local craftsmen. Argentina, Chile, then Mexico or Peru, this back-and-forth between two continents is at the heart of her work, but it's at the Maison de la céramique du Pays de Dieulefit, where she completed her training (2021-2022), that Elisa Le Guern has found her language.
From her taste for the ancestral pot and its storage function, she now creates delicate jars with extremely thin walls, patiently assembled using the colombin and pincé techniques, methods that take time and imply a special relationship with the objects.
From the South, she retains the warm colors of raw earth (stoneware), or those of the clays she collects and quietly allows to settle before coating the walls of her ceramics. The traces left by the fine earth particles, sometimes combined with wood firing, create warm landscapes.
Finally, the ceramics are refined, sometimes to the point of tearing, to form an earthen lace evocative of the passage of time and inevitable erosion.
