The Auberge des Dauphins, in the heart of the forest of Saoû, is a space dedicated to scientific, historical and environmental research with permanent exhibition « Secrets de forêt » and temporary exhibition
Description
The Auberge des Dauphins, located in the heart of the Forêt de Saoû, an Espace Naturel Sensible, is a must-see in the Drôme valley.
Designed by Mr. Burrus, who owned the forest from 1924 to 1959, the Auberge des Dauphins is a neoclassical building inaugurated in 1930.
Dedicated to green tourism, the auberge enjoyed its heyday in the 1930s, before decades of neglect. In 2022, the inn was reborn as a site house. Dedicated to understanding the perched syncline of Saoû and discovering the forest's natural and heritage riches, the permanent exhibition is organized around major themes and questions the relationship between Man and Nature.
The Auberge offers visitors new services to make the most of their stay in the forest: digital applications, snacks in the golden lounge for a moment of relaxation, a program of themed walks, workshops...
These are just some of the services available to help visitors understand and grasp the spirit of the place.
