Classical music festival held every July at St. Peter's Church.
Description
CHEMINS DE PIERRE grew out of a Dieulefit association whose work led to the restoration of one of Dieulefit's two churches: Saint-Pierre, located in the medieval part of the town.
The great merit of this restoration is to have succeeded in equipping the Saint-Pierre church with ideal acoustics. This exceptional venue has led music lovers in Dieulefit to organize classical music concerts there. An association was created, taking the name of the church: CHEMINS DE PIERRE.
In 2004, a festival was launched under the artistic direction of pianist François DAUDET: "Les JOURNEES MUSICALES DE DIEULEFIT".
A renowned pianist and teacher at the Evreux Conservatoire, François DAUDET has a vast network of highly talented musician friends, whose participation in the Journées Musicales enables the program to be continually renewed.
The program is made up of major works from the 18th, 19th and 20th century chamber music repertoire, with the piano as the central instrument.
François DAUDET is very attached to STEINWAY pianos, whose name, derived from the German STEIN and the English WAY, evokes that of "Chemins de Pierre".
