Slow Tourism in the Dieulefit-Boureaux Region

Slow tourism in the Dieulefit-Bourdeaux region

Enjoy a weekend in the open air: that’s the principle of slow tourism

Try this new way of travelling by spending the day outside where humans and the environment are at the heart of this experience. Walk a few kilometers in nature and appreciate the surroundings.

Choose an eco-friendly means of transport like cycling, walking, horse or donkey riding… It’s ideal to make frequent stop and enjoy the scenery. It’s been practiced for years now in the region. Everything is adapted to try this new way of living during your holidays.

Meet Bêêla, the goat mascot of the Dieulefit-Bourdeaux Tourist Office. She took the time to travel through the territory and here’s her travel program.

Bêêla’s slow tourism weekend:

First day of the weekend: I went on a hike with my friends, the donkeys. They’re the nicest! They carried the baggage of my kids. By the way, did I tell you that I came with my family? It’s a perfect activity for children! I wouldn’t have missed a chance to share this moment with them.

Here we are on the GR965 hiking trail. The changing landscapes between garrigues and forests are amazing. But hiking made us hungry. We had many local products to eat such as picodon cheese, charcuterie, olives and figs. A true quality family time, kids really loved it!

For the afternoon we decided to have some rest from the hike. And what better to relax than in a wagon pulled by horses?! The landscapes are changing constantly throughout the ride. We even met some of my goat friends in farms along the itinerary.

Second day of the weekend: Since I love spending my weekend outsid, I went on a trip with my friends! We went from farm to farm on some vintage-styled scooters. It was an amazing human experience. The producers were really welcoming and shared their passions with us. Our hearts and bellies were full with all the charcuterie, beers, biscuits… we ate. We finished the day by riding from cellars to cellars on electric bicycles. We tasted a wide range of wines from red to white, Grenache to Syrah… The AOC Grignan-Les-Adhémar wines really seduced us!

It’s through the accommodations, activities, visits, conversations… that you will have a true slow tourism experience.
